This is a private party event to create enameled copper Christmas ornaments. Attendees will choose one of three designs and learn how to sift enamel to layer bright colors on a one of a kind piece. Students who have completed our beginning series may continue their enameling journey in this intermediate series.
We will work with crackle enamels, stringers and lumps, and overglazes to create unique patterns and finishes. Painting with liquid enamels will give students a chance to include their individual artistic talents and expand their control of color mixing. These can all be used in combination with techniques learned in the beginning series, and layering of colors to create depth and interest will be encouraged. We will also be learning about more advanced techniques, such as champleve, basse-taille, and plique-a-jour, as time permits.
