Introduction to Enameling
Thursday, October 17 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
$35.00
In this introductory class, students will learn to use powdered glass (vitreous enamel), a piece of copper, and a kiln to make beautiful, one of a kind creations.
Each student will be given a 2 x 2-inch copper square as a pallet for their design, using paper towel pieces to make a template that is unique to their vision.
We will prepare the copper, learn to spread the enamel with small sieves, and then apply different colors of enamel, fired one color at a time in the kiln. Everyone will complete one square by the end of class, ready to take home that day.
Ages: Because we are using a kiln reaching 1,500 degrees, students must be 18 years or older at this time.
ALL MATERIALS AND SAFETY GEAR WILL BE PROVIDED.
