Art classes are open to children 17 and under.
(Class 1 on April 22nd will be held at Finck's Nature Preserve in Somerset (weather permitting) as an Earth Day Celebration. We will explore a variety of ways to take art into nature.)
Classes 2-5 will be at the Co-op on April 29th, May 6th, 13th, and 20th.
Session 3 will still offer a flexible, open-studio format where students can choose their own creative path each week. With guidance and encouragement along the way, the young artists will explore a variety of materials and techniques while working at their own pace.
I have created an inspiration binder the kiddos can look through for projects to create but they mostly enjoyed using their own imaginations and creativity in session 2!
Materials Available to Art Club Students:
Recycled materials (cardboard, tin cans, plastic bottles, magazines), flower vases, paper, cardstock, paint, markers, chalk, crayons, colored pencils, scissors, Mod Podge, foil, hot glue, popsicle sticks, fabric scraps, tape (painter’s, masking, duct, and fabric), air-dry clay, fake florals and navy beans.
If your artist has a project in mind we can find the materials needed together!
Please be sure to include in the notes section of your purchase, your child's name, age and a little about their special interests or artistic abilities!
We will learn how to reticulate silver. 800, not 925 silver is used. Heat will make the silver wrinkle (reticulate). Each piece is unique, and there is no way to tell what the wrinkles will look like. 800 silver has a higher copper content, which makes the wrinkles larger. We will all make a pendant. This class is suitable for those 13 years and up.
Silver is around $80 bucks an ounce now - Cost of class = $60.00
