Learning Benchmarks
* Shapes and Shading
- learn to draw 2d and 3d shapes
- finding shapes in references
- using shading to create 3d shapes

*Light and Shadow
- use/find light placement
- contour your drawings using shadow
- accent your drawings using highlights
- casting realistic shadows

*Proportion and Perspective
- determine and define distance between objects
- drawing perspective lines
- appropriately represent size and distance in drawings

*Shading Techniques
- hatching and cross hatching
- layer building and tonal shading
- stippling and scrumbling

What We Will Learn
Finding Shapes in what you see
-find and discern shapes in your reference
-apply those shapes to your sketch

-use magnifying glass to observe and capture small details
-identify and replicate patterns in nature (bark, veins, branching, fungi gills, etc)
-checking colors against reference for accuracy
